Daikin Introduces R32 Multi-Zone and Aurora Single Zone

by HVAC Distributors

Daikin has introduced some of the following groups of R32 mini-split systems as part of the transition to A2L refrigerants.

  • Aurora Multi-Zone Outdoor Units
  • Aurora Single Zone Outdoor Units
  • Standard (MXS) Multi-Zone Outdoor Units
  • Wall-Mount Indoor Units (FTX) to match

Background:

  • Manufacturers will no longer produce R410A equipment after December 31, 2024 and dealers will no longer be allowed to sell R410A equipment after December 31, 2025.
  • These models will join the ENTRA, OTERRA, and the ATMOSPHERA in Daikin’s R32 equipment lineup.
  • Daikin is introducing units in some sizes, but not all.  View Appendix One for complete model details.

What’s Staying the Same:

  • The new indoor and outdoor units come in the same sizes.
  • The NEEP listing is the same. See Appendix Two.

Built-In Wi-Fi, using the Daikin One Home App

Changes to Note:

  • The new CTXV and FTXV indoor units feature built-in Wi-Fi and use the Daikin One Home App. See Appendix Four for detail on the control options.
  • The new CTXV and FTXV indoor units serve as the wall mount unit for all three of the systems:
  • There is a distinct performance improvement and this results in a significant expansion of federal tax credit eligibility. See Appendix Two.
  • Aurora single-zone now fits in with Atmosphera as comparable in cold climate performance but at a more attractive price. See Appendix Three.

Additional Items to Note:
