Daikin Light Commercial Rooftop 7.5 to 12.5-Ton Condensation Issue

Daikin has released Technical Service Bulletin D-GN-LC-0057 concerning certain 7.5- to 12.5-ton commercial rooftops experiencing condensate bypassing the drain pan in both standard efficiency and high-efficiency air conditioner and gas-electric models.

From Daikin:

Certain 7.5- to 12.5-ton commercial rooftop units may, under certain conditions, experience condensate bypassing the drain pan in both standard efficiency and high-efficiency air conditioner and gas-electric models as shown in the table below.

If experiencing this condition, please follow the instructions below for installing the Drip Edge Kit.

Drip Edge Kit and Installation Instructions

This Technical Service Bulletin provides a field modification design and process to address this condition using the Drip Edge Kit with part numbers listed below. The Drip Edge Kit shall be installed between the filter rack and coil support pan as shown in the corresponding installation instructions.

Warranty Claims

  1. For installed equipment, Daikin will subsidize the cost of the Drip Edge Kit and pay a labor allowance of $200.00 for each reworked unit. All claims for installed units must use the authorization code 8806.
  2. Daikin will subsidize the cost of the kit and pay a labor allowance of $100.00 for each uninstalled unit reworked. All claims for uninstalled equipment must use authorization code 8807.

Claims must be filed on Warranty Express as an “Authorization” type claim, using authorization code number 8806 for installed units and code 8807 for uninstalled units.

The claim for the part and labor should be filed as one claim, using the servicer’s account number. The model and serial number for each unit must be provided. Please consult the Warranty Department if you need assistance with this process.
