Goodman Introduces CAPTA and CHPTA R32 Coils

Goodman Introduces CAPTA and CHPTA R32 Coils

by HVAC Distributors

Goodman is introducing the R32 version of the CAPTA and CHPTA coils to go with the new R32 outdoor units.

Background: R32 CAPTA and CHPTA Coils

  • The AlumaFin7 coils are essential components of the Amana and Goodman systems.
  • Goodman is introducing the R32 coils to go with the matching R32 outdoor units.
  • There will be other new R32 coils (piston coils for the low SEER2 and EEV coils for the inverter units). These are the TXV coils.

Changes to Note:

  • These models use R32 and must be matched to R32 outdoor units.
  • Models have the refrigerant leak detector with an integrated cable. See Appendix Two for more details.
  • The new coils use an R32 TXV.
  • Daikin is introducing an AlumaFin7 coil in the largest sizes to finish the transition to the new improved design.
  • The refrigerant designation in position 11 denotes the change, from “4” for R410A to “3” for R32. See Appendix Three for the nomenclature.
  • All horizontal cased coils are transitioning to TXV coils as part of this transition.
  • See Appendix One for the part number detail.

What’s Staying the Same:

  • Appearance and dimensions will stay the same as the old coils.
  • The optional high temperature drain pan for the vertical coils (HTP7) is the same.
  • The connection location has not changed.

Additional Items to Note:

Transition

HVAC Distributors will continue to stock the old models, then transition to the new models when inventory is depleted.
