Daikin Introduces R32 OTERRA Ductless Heat Pumps

As we begin to transition to A2L refrigerants, Daikin has introduced the R32 OTERRA single-zone mini-split series. This ductless system is ideal for spaces with primary living areas, rooms with poor airflow, renovations, basements, attics, garages, and home add-ons.
Background:
- Manufacturers will no longer produce R410A equipment after December 31, 2024 and dealers will no longer be allowed to sell R410A equipment after December 31, 2025.
- The R32 OTERRA will join the ENTRA and the Atmosphera in Daikin’s R32 equipment lineup.
Changes to Note: 
- The new R32 OTERRA series uses R32 refrigerant.
- An A2L certification on file with HVAC Distributors is required to purchase this system.
- If you are unsure if you have an A2L certification on file or would like to sign up for an A2L training, reach out to your HVAC Distributors, Inc. Account Manager.
- Don’t mix an R410A unit with an R32 unit. These units are not compatible.
Features Not Changing with the Transition:
- The R32 OTERRA will still be available in a heat pump and a cooling-only version.
- All the installation accessories will stay the same.
- All the control options are the same (see Appendix Two).
Transition
HVAC Distributors will continue to stock the old models, then transition to the new models when inventory is depleted.
