CTK03 and CTK04A Displaying Improper Outdoor Temperature

CTK03 and CTK04A Displaying Improper Outdoor Temperature

by HVAC Distributors

Goodman has recently released Service Bulletin SR-066 regarding CTK03 and CTK04A thermostats displaying improper outdoor temperatures.

From Goodman:

On a limited amount of communicating systems, we have had reports of CTK03 and CTK04A thermostats not displaying the correct outside temperature. The root of this problem appears to be communications between the thermostat and outdoor sensor. This condition may cause an inaccurately initiated lockout of the compressor, errant dual fuel operation or improper electric auxiliary heat cycling in heat pump systems. Work is being done to identify the issue’s root cause.

As an interim solution, you can install a Honeywell RedLINK Wireless Outdoor Sensor to resolve the issue and also provide the customer with current outdoor relative humidity. The part number for the Honeywell Wireless Outdoor Sensor is C7089R1013; it can be ordered from your local distributor.

We will provide labor at the servicer’s Class “A” labor rate for installation of the RedLINK Outdoor Sensor when addressing the sticking outdoor temperature display condition. Claims must be filed using Warranty Express as an Authorization type claim, using Authorization Code number 8792.

  • The claim for the part and labor should be filed as one claim, using the Dealer’s account number.
  • The CTK03 and CTK04A should be filed as a part using the matched piece of equipment for the unit information.

All claims for this project must be submitted within the first 12 months after installation.

The Honeywell RedLINK Wireless Outdoor Sensor (C7089R1013) is in stock at HVAC Distributors and can be ordered by phone or through Web Order Entry.
