High Temp Drain Pans for AlumaFin7 Coils

AlumaFin7 vertical coils (CAPFA, CAPTA, CAPEA, CAUFA) come standard with “regular” temperature drain pans which are sufficient when installed on Goodman or Amana furnaces and blowers.  Issues arise, however, when they are installed on oil furnaces, which produce much higher temperatures.  When installing a coil on an oil furnace, both a high temperature drain pan and installation at least 4” above the furnace are required.  Daikin’s solution has been a high temp drain pan field-installed on a CAPF or CAPT coil, but as they gradually replace the CAPF with the CAPFA, this has limited the ability to use Daikin coils on retrofits involving oil furnaces.

Daikin has now introduced high temperature drain pans for their AlumaFin7 coils.  The new drain pans fit the vertical coils CAPFA, CAPTA, CAPEA, and CAUFA.  Like the older high temp drain pans (i.e. HTP-A), they come in four widths to match the coil width.

HVAC Distributors plans to stock all four sizes and inventory is expected to arrive in late July.
