New Daikin ONE+ Smart Thermostat Option for Amana Brand Systems

Daikin announced the ONE+ Thermostat now has increased system compatibility.  Daikin ONE+ thermostats are now compatible with Amana brand communicating unitary equipment and can be substituted for the Amana brand smart thermostat without exception. The Amana brand smart thermostat remains readily available as an option for Amana brand dealers.

Daikin ONE+ Background:

• The ONE+ stat was introduced by Daikin in July 2020.
  • The version with the translation adaptor (DTST-ONE-ADA-A) works with various mini-split systems.
  • That was the extent of the compatibility at the time of introduction.

What Has Changed?

• Daikin has progressed in testing the ONE+ Thermostat (DTST-CWBSA-NI-A) with various Amana unitary systems adding new compatibilities.
• Things to note about the new system compatibilities:
  • The system must be AHRI rated.
  • If an up flow/horizontal furnace is shown, the answer is the same for the downflow equivalent.
  • If it is not shown as supported on the chart, then assume it is not compatible.
  • A translation adaptor is not needed to work on these Amana systems.  Do not use the ONE+ thermostat (DTST-ONE-ADA-A) that comes with a translation adaptor in the box.
